The Institute for the Study of Mongolian Dinosaurs (ISMD) was established by Dr. Minjin Bolortsetseg in 2007 as a non-profit, non-government institution whose mission is to promote Mongolian paleontological and geological research through collaboration with international scientists, the support and training of the next generation of Mongolian paleontologists and geologists, through public outreach, and through active field work with an emphasis on fossil conservation. Vision Statement of the ISMD In the next ten years, the institute will develop a self-sustaining active community of Mongolian paleontologists and a museum in Mongolia to preserve dinosaurs and other national treasures for generations to come. To accomplish this, the ISMD has 3 core objectives: 1) training of a new generation of Mongolian paleontologists, 2) building of a new museum for the exhibition and study of Mongolian fossils, and 3) strengthening public and political support for paleontology in Mongolia.
